From the minute you arrive at the Motel Inverness, you'll know it’s not your daddy’s motel.

Sure, we’re a motel in the classic sense. All the rooms lined up in a row. Parking lot adjacent to the rooms. And you’ll usually be able to park pretty darn close to your door, alleviating the need to walk through a lobby every time you come and go.

But beyond that, we’re a lot more like a lodge than a motel. In fact, our Lodge is one of our main attractions. Besides, of course, our view across Tomales Bay – and our prime location in the heart of the Point Reyes National Seashore.

Ah, but the Lodge is lovely, in and of itself. Gather round the massive fireplace, created with Yosemite slate. Unwind with a game of pool on our championship table. Or simply relax in a rocker facing the bay.

The marsh that backs onto our property is protected habitat and research area for the Audubon Canyon Ranch. But our guests can walk right out into that natural splendor across our own birding walkway. If there’s a better spot for a cup of morning coffee, we’ve never seen it. Find out for yourself. Grab a cuppa joe, some complimentary biscotti from the lodge, and take a walk on the wild side.

We know once you do, you’ll feel the same magic here we do.
